Band 7 Children’s Learning Disability Nurse/Children’s Autism / ADHD Nurse Specialist – West Essex

Job Purpose:

To support the implementation of the JADES diagnostic pathway for Autism and diagnosis and management of ADHD across West Essex

 

Salary: £40-£52 per hour

 

Key Responsibilities

This list is intended to summarise the key responsibilities and is not intended to cover every task that may be required of the role: -

 

  • To carry out specialised comprehensive assessments, including ADOS, collecting, interpreting and interrogating clinical data from a range of sources including direct observation, interviews with CYP, carers and other professionals involved with the CYP’s care.
  • To conduct assessments in a variety of community locations in accordance with clients’ needs.
  • To utilise specialist assessment skills to determine a family’s needs, and to make informed recommendations for treatment options.
  • To implement appropriate interventions for CYP, families/carers and groups drawing upon a range of evidence-based ideas.
  • To develop creative and flexible ways of using therapeutic techniques with CYP and families
  • To be involved in the weekly panel meetings where new referrals are triaged, and care pathway is determined
  • To be responsible for a complex caseload whilst working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to provide a co-ordinated and integrated individualised care package to children and young people.
  • To provide comprehensive written reports following the assessments that are sent to families & key people involved in the child’s care
  • To support & deliver the training programme to colleagues in our Pre-birth-19 service to give them the skills to support families
