 GP World are looking for a Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Berkshire.

Hours:  80 Hours per week

Duration: - To be confirmed

Rate:£45,000.00 per year


  • The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare, independently, to patients (adults and children) attending the Centre.
  • The post holder is accountable for the total episode of care within the Centre; for patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed needs.
  • The post holder will act as a role model, delivering advanced practice and promoting clinical effectiveness in care. They will be required to work autonomously in delivering independent assessment, clinical examination, diagnosis, clinical decision making and planning of care and treatment, diagnosis, prescribing, health promotion and safe discharge of patients.
  • The post holder will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and will play an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the service.
  • The post holder will promote and facilitate evidence-based practice and clinical audit and research within the service.
  • The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner within the Centre delivering all aspects of management and care to a wide range of patients with varying needs. The role will work in conjunction with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and medical treatment to all Centre patients.
  • The post holder will be either be an individual with a recognised master’s degree qualification in Advanced Practice or be studying towards one (trainee’s must have completed the clinical assessment and prescribing module as a minimum.

Person Specification  

Qualification and training


  • Registered with the relevant processional body

  • Degree-Level registration qualification or equivalent post-registration award

  • PG Diploma in Advanced Practice

  • Life support Qualification (or alternative profession specific clinically determined qualifications)

  • Non-Medical Prescribing

  • Up to date Clinical Practice


  • MSC in Advanced practice or equivalent qualification – or working toward willingness to undertake

  • Relevant teaching qualification

Knowledge and experience


  • Demonstrated advanced clinical practice

  • Experience in urgent care and minor illness

  • Experience of prioritising needs and informed decision making in care and delivery

  • Evidence of continuous development and the practical application of new skills to the work place

  • Evidence of lead for or contribution to audit programmes within the practice.

  • Change management experience and direct involvement of redesign within a service, including promoting evidence bases practice.

  • Experience of developing services are based on assessed needs of patient groups.

  • Knowledge relating to current urgent care organisational policy and national legislation

  • Currently undertaking clinical practice

  • Excellent communication skills
